Tony (cis male hetero Black) is an Associate Professor in the School of Information Studies (SOIS) at Dominican University,(DU) and serves as the iSchool’s Equity, Inclusion, and Justice Coordinator. Dr. Dunbar’s research builds on the racial and social justice frameworks of Critical Race Theory (CRT). Tony’s current efforts focus on developing pedagogy, scholarship, and activism to expand the CRT framework into a platform specific for Information Studies: Critical Race information Theory (CRiT). He is also the Global Lead for the Critical Race Theory collective. Dr. Dunbar is one of the Co Principal Investigators for DU SOIS’ portion ($750,000) of a multi institutional collaborative faculty Mellon Foundation Public Knowledge Program grant ($5,967,700): Faculty Organizing for Community Archives Support (FOCAS). Yujay (she/her) is the Black Studies Librarian at Northwestern University Libraries. She holds an MA in Public History from Loyola University Chicago and an MLIS from Dominican University. Her professional and academic interests include American history, collective memory, Black history, photography, material and visual culture, archival and library instruction, and digital humanities. Through her work in various libraries, museums, and archives, she has developed a strong passion for providing access to information and facilitating research and learning.
